Tucker grew up in Auburn and learned to love the outdoors at an early age while camping and fishing. He still enjoys Alabama’s natural resources and gained respect for the beauty of Alabama’s water by swimming and canoeing around Lake Martin and Bear Creek.
He is currently Senior in Ecological Engineering at Auburn University and pursuing a minor in Agronomy. He worked at Environmental Resource Analysis as a lab tech testing dissolved oxygen and suspended solids in industrial wastewater for over 3 years until he joined our team in 2019 as the Lead Swim Guide Intern.
Now as the Riverkeeper Patrol/Swim Guide Lead, he now focuses on issues pertaining to water quality in the Coosa River watershed. He coordinates the popular Coosa River Swim Guide program and is responsible for the organization’s data collection, laboratory protocol, and managing interns. He supports the rest of the team at events, writing blog posts, and working hard to combine his love for science and the outdoors to the public. Ultimately, Tucker is happiest when he can enjoy the outdoors with friends and family. He is currently learning to fly fish in his spare time.
