Water Quality & Pollution Issues

Water quality is the central issue to Coosa Riverkeeper. We can measure water quality in many ways with sampling. Much more difficult is the task of improving water quality by reducing pollution. Our Coosa River faces many different pollution sources including, but not limited to:

Coal-fired Power Plants
Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs)
Sewage
Dams & Impoundments
Water Wars & Water Use Allocation
Chemical Weapons
